This past Sunday was Pentecost and I was inspired to write this benediction
by the act of covenant we did together as a congregation:
weaving bright strips of red and yellow and orange into an almost
invisible net that was stretched across the sanctuary wall. |
Holy Weaving Spirit is at her loom.
Readying herself,
she breathes,
and begins.
Strand by strand she gathers and weaves
a people into beauty,
a wild self portrait made of many strands.
Her colors are fire.
Her creation is God’s
Beloved,
our colors are fire.
We are God’s creation.
